DISTRICT INFORMATION SERVICES COUNCIL
(DISC), GAJAPATI
With a view to constituting the District
Information Services Council (DISC) to pursue' the 'dvera11 activities and
promotion of the Information Technology in the State and to provide for a
coordinating agency at the District level, the State Government do hereby frame
a Council namely, DISTRICT INFORMATION
SERVICES COUNCIL (DISC), 2006.
Aims and
objectives of the Council
(a) Promote IT usage and bridge
the digital divide between regions, peoples and classes within
the District.
(b) Plan, implement and promote
the activities of the State Portal in the District.
(c) Formulate the District Agenda
for e-Governance.
(d) Promote electronic delivery
of citizen's services.
(e) Facilitate and promote
interaction and synergy amongst various stake holders including line departments
and NGOs in the use of ICT for e-Governance and Good Governance.
(f) Support preparation and
implementation of information management plans by different line departments and
other organizations in the District.

The meeting of District Information
Services Council, Gajapati convened on 21.11.2006 was
presided over by Sri D. V. Swamy, IAS, Collector,
Gajapati. DIO, NIC, Gajapati outlined the material points in the Notification
received from the Government of Orissa in Information
Technology Department vide No.1480/It – ITC – 48/05(pt) Dated 03/06/2006 and the
need for formation of a District
Information Services Council (DISC) in this district. Members present in the meeting have
unanimously resolved to constitute a District Information Services Council
(DISC) in this district.
The District Information Services
Council, Gajapati was constituted and registered under
the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 vide No.29/2006-07 Dt:
